Are Heartwood & Helm pieces handmade?
Yes. Each piece is cut, sanded, painted, finished, and inspected by hand.
Will my piece look exactly like the photograph?
Not exactly. Natural grain and hand-painted details vary from piece to piece, which makes each toy one of a kind.
What materials do you use?
Our current wooden pieces are made from poplar, painted with non-toxic German Angora watercolors, and finished with jojoba oil and beeswax.
Why are quantities limited?
Heartwood & Helm pieces are handcrafted rather than mass-produced, so availability is intentionally small and may vary by design.
How should I care for my wooden toy?
Wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth, avoid soaking, and allow the piece to air-dry. See our Materials & Care page for more detail.
